Recently we have done the creation and translation of subtitles for a private company operating in the registration, marketing and promotion of drugs in Slovakia. We transcribed, translated and incorporated subtitles into the supplied video and PPT presentation, which we then exported to a video format with built-in subtitles. We have translated from English to Slovak. The timing of the subtitles was also part of the delivery.
We did the initial translation of the subtitles based on the video, with integrated English subtitles. The client’s request was to create Slovak subtitles, correct the video, and overlay the English subtitles as necessary. The audio track of the output contained a spoken word, based on which we generated a basic transcription into English using certified software. Subsequently, we timed the original English subtitles. Then, thanks to our top English translators, we translated English, already timed subtitles into Slovak, where the text still required checking and proofreading the translation timing. We use existing translation memories and glossaries to maintain the total consistency of the final subtitles. Finally, we checked the completeness of the text and included the definitive translation of the subtitles in the final video file. During the PPT presentation, which the client supplied us with the soundtrack, we created subtitles based on the spoken word that was part of the presentation. In this case, it was necessary to adjust the audio output quality to maintain the consistency and especially the professionalism of the overall production. Subsequently, we created a transcript of English subtitles using software that we timed correctly in the translation to maintain a correct translation, along with a bilingual review of the suitability of the Slovak language content compared to the English content. Finally, our translators in ASAP-translation created a translation of subtitles from English into Slovak. They integrated the translated subtitles into the video output and the modified audio track, resulting in two high-quality video outputs with embedded Slovak subtitles.
