From a private company operating in registration, marketing and promotion of drugs in Slovakia, we received an exciting request to translate and burn subtitles into a professional medical lecture video. After analyzing the professionalism of the text, we decided to use a translator – a medical expert (so-called SME – Subject Matter Expert). First, however, it was necessary to make a transcript of the audio recording, as the client did not have it available. In this phase, we used the technology of automatic speech to text transcription services. This was followed by the timing of the transcript in the subtitling program and its translation to the Slovak language by medical text specialists. After checking the translation and fine-tuning the timing, we burned the subtitles directly into the video. It was the customer’s request. At the same time, we also adjusted the format of the subtitles for better readability. Although work may be a bit more demanding, the translation of subtitles and their technical processing, we are always pleased with an exciting translation project, and the joy has also doubled customer satisfaction.
